1. Choose one in an area of interest that you are interested in. No matter how much money it generates or how much traffic it gets, if your not truly interested, the money and traffic will not last.
2. Age is important, but it’s not everything. If the website is relatively new, it should sell for less. But, that depends upon #3.
3. How much income is the website generating? Even new websites can generate a lot of income. The higher the amount of income that a website generates, the value of that website goes up. Not always, but typically a website will sell somewhere around three times the value of what its normal monthly income is.
4. Traffic is important. The lower the traffic, the lower the value. You have to have traffic to generate an internet income opportunity.

I now watch Flippa on a daily basis. I am looking for three things in particular:
1. Websites in my area of interest that have high income and are selling at unusually low prices, or
2. Websites in my area of interest that have low income, but high traffic that I think I can monetize on, or
3. Websites in my area of interest that are very low priced that I think I can drive traffic to and that I think I can create an effective money making program for.
Finding websites with high income revenues that are selling at low prices are hard to find, but they can be found. In fact, if you watched the video posted above, it shows a website with an income revenue stream of $900/month that had a current bid of $160 with only two days remaining. That could be a great buy! I, myself, have purchased two like this.
Websites that have a lot of traffic, but have a low income stream, are somewhat easier to find. A lot of people don’t know how to monetize their websites and just get tired of messing with them. A lot of work and no income. That’s a shame for them, but a goldmine for someone else.
Finding websites in my area of interest, with low traffic levels and little or no income, provide me a lot of interest. Particularly, when they have some age on them. Many people just don’t learn how to drive traffic to their websites. Getting ranked on the first page of Google and the other major search engines is the key to this. And, that’s not that hard to do depending on the keywords that you are using and the links that are pointing into your sight. Getting these links is not that hard to do when you use a tool like Traffic-Bug (for more information on this, read my article on Traffic-Bug).

Backlinks are vital if your trying to build free traffic to your internet income opportunity. To get a lot of free traffic, you have to rank high on page one of the search engines for your keywords. And, the only way to do that is to either have more backlinks to your website than your competitors or to have more high authority backlinks. Between the two, high authority is most important.One high authority backlink can be worth 100 other backlinks.
What is a high authority backlink? It’s a backlink from a site that the search engines already consider important. It’s a backlink from a site that is probably already ranked high by the search engines. For example, if your website is selling jewelry, a backlink from a site like www.Zales.com would be considered a high authority backlink (Zales.com is a jewelry outlet that has been in business since 1924 and its website is ranked #1 out of 130,000,000 sites by Google).
In your search for these type of high authority backlinks, type your keywords into Google Search (or, Yahoo and MSN) and start looking from the top of page one. Going down the search results, look for sites that you might be able to leave a backlink to your site. You may have to visit many of these sites. Look to see if they have a link exchange program, a comment area, or even a “signature” page. Finding several of these high ranking sites and posting backlinks will help increase your internet income opportunity.
Another source of high authority sites are those websites related to educational and government agencies. These websites end with the terms .edu and .gov. The search engines consider these sites important. One reason that they do is that all comments and backlinks posted to these sites are human reviewed before they are posted. So, if you are going to leave a comment and backlink on one of these sites, make sure that your comment and backlink is relevant to the site. These sites do not allow spamming.
To find .edu and .gov sites that you can leave backlinks on, you have to find blogs and forums related to these sites. To find these, go to the search engines and type in each of the following, one at a time: “inurl:.gov+inurl:blog”, “inurl:.gov+inurl:forum”, “inurl:.edu+inurl:blog”, and “inurl:.edu+inurl:forum”. Type these in without the parenthesis that I have attached.
The search engines will return all the .gov or .edu websites that are either blog or forum related. You will have to look through these listings to find those that might be related to your website. If you can find one, make sure you leave a good comment that adds substance to the subject they are talking about. Getting a backlink from one of these sights will certainly boost the ranking of your internet income opportunity.
