Do you advertise on Google Adwords? If so, have you tried advertising on Facebook, yet? If not, you’re missing out on a legitimate business opportunity!

Facebook is HUGE! Since its creation from a Harvard dorm room in 2004, Facebook has grown to over 500 MILLION USERS and that number is SKYROCKETING. More than 50% of those users use it on a daily basis.

In January 2010, Facebook set a record by displacing Google as the top site where the most web pages are viewed.  

So, if you advertise on Adwords, don’t pass up advertising on Facebook. You can do it for far less money and you can target your customers so much better. You can target buyers who have already qualified themselves in a particular target market.  

Here, let me show you how to do it:

Go to http://www.facebook.com/advertising and you’ll get a page similar to the one below:

Once on that page, click the “Create an Ad” button located in the upper, right hand side of that page.

Now, you’ll get a page similar to the one above. Fill in your ads destination URL, give your ad a title, and provide some text for the body of the ad. And, do you see what’s next?

Yes, your ad can have an image with it! That’s one neat thing about Facbook advertising.  

When finished, click the “Continue” button and you’ll get a page similar to the one below:

On these pages is where your legitimate business opportunity really begins to take shape. These pages allow you to target your market very specifically – in ways that you can’t do on Google Adwords.

You can target buyers by age, sex, relationships, and even birthdays! But, it’s the box that appears just below the box above that I like best. See the image below:

Likes and Interests! This box is MOST IMPORTANT!

In this box you can get very focused on particular types of buyers. For example, if you were promoting one of Clickbank’s products called World of Warcraft, you could put that into the “Likes and Interests” box. Then, only those people that have used those terms in their own profiles would view your ad. This insures that your ads are highly targeted!

Now, one thing that I need to mention is that as you are checking boxes or adding phrases to target your potential buyers, Facbook is keeping track of it. Facebook provides you an estimate of the number of potential viewers that will see your ad. That estimate appears to the right of the images above. It looks like the image below:

The reason I didn’t show it in the images up above is that the image would’ve been so big that when I downsized it to fit on this page, you wouldn’t have been able to read what is written on those pages. I apologize for that.

Moving on.

The last bit of information that you have to complete before placing your ad order is the Campaigns, Pricing and Scheduling box.

Here, you select a campaign name and can enter a daily budget. If you haven’t advertised on Facebook before, I would encourage you to keep your daily budget low. Facebook advertising takes some practice.

Schedule your ad for the days that you want your ad to show. Maybe you want your ads only to show on weekends. If so, make that selection.

Last, choose how you want to pay for your ads. Do you want to pay on a Pay for Click(CPC) or Pay for Impressions(CPM) basis? Facebook will provide you an estimate of what it thinks you should pay for both of these. But, it’s your decision. You decide and enter that into the box.

I’ve found on a CPC basis that I pay about one-third of what I have to pay on Google Adwords.

After filling out these forms, your ad can start running. You’re done. Your legitimate business opportunity has been created. Keep track of it and watch the profits roll in.

Just in case you don’t know what I mean by “organically”, it means that you are not paying for it. It means that you are getting visitors to your website naturally.

There are two ways to get traffic to your site. One, is to pay for the traffic, such as through Google Adwords.

Secondly, is through normal search engine traffic, most importantly is Google, which accounts for 70% of the traffic.

Paid search on the internet is so expensive. I know, I’ve done it. Take out your wallet and never close it.

To be successful on the internet, you have to learn to do it organically. Don’t let anybody else tell you differently!

What this means is that if you want a lot of visitors to your website “naturally”, you have to be ranked on page  1 of Google – one of the top ten sites for your keyword.

Let me show you something. See the image below:

If you’re paying for visitors to your website, and if you are paying enough to get your ad listed at the top of Google’s search page, on average you’ll get 2-3% of the visitors to the page to click on your ad (these numbers are furnished by Google).

And, what about the ads on the right side of the page:

On average, they’ll get 1-2% of the clicks to the page. See below:

So, what does this mean?

It means that you’re so much better off to get your internet income opportunity’s website or squeeze page ranked on page 1 than you are to pay for traffic to it.

Take a look at the picture below:

According to Google, on average the #1 organic listing on their search page will receive 40-45% of all of the available clicks to that page.

The #2 listing will receive somewhere between 11-18% of the clicks; the #3 listing will receive 7-15%; the 4th through #9 listings will average about 2% each of the clicks and, surprisingly, the #10 listing will get slightly more at about 3% of all of the available clicks.

So, even if you’re on the bottom of page 1, you’ll get more clicks than if you were paying for the clicks.

Now, the key is to get your website highly ranked in the search engines. To do that, you need to thoroughly understand search engine optimization. This is similar to the kind of problems I had with pay-per-click advertising on Google Adwords. Google is certainly a big stream with a lot of fish in it, but there are thousands-upon-thousands of advertisers fishing in it. The cost for your keywords that you want to use are high. It is very competitive. You also have to battle with your ad’s quality score on Google Adwords. It’s a struggle.

These are the reasons why I have chosen to fish in smaller streams where there are fewer anglers, but there are still a lot of fish to catch. It’s easier to snag an internet income opportunity. One of those streams that I fish in is called Adbrite. It’s an excellent platform to use for affiliate marketing.

Adbrite serve ads on more than 650,000,000 page views per day. They serve ads on eBay, AOL, Photobucket, MyLifeIsAverage, Facebook, and thousands of other sites. If you want to, you can even select the sites you want your ads to appear on for niche targeting. You can target your ads by location (US, UK, Japan, etc), by category (business, health and wellness, parenting, etc.), by by demographic info (gender and age), and by keywords. Adbrite has their own conversion tracking system that you can use and you can run text ads, banner ads, or full page ads.

The cost to run ads on Adbrite is much lower than Google Adwords. You specify what’s the maximum amount you want to pay and it can be as low as $.05/click. I have used keywords on Adbrite that I paid $.05 for that I use to pay $1.17 for on Google Adwords. You can also tell Adbrite what’s the maximum amount of money you want to spend per day.

Adbrite does not provide a quality score for your ad. So, you don’t get penalized like you do on Google Adwords. I never found the quality score that I got at Google Adwords to be of help. It only lowered my ads position or increased my cost.

So, if you have been fishing in that big river crowded with other anglers, you may want to try this smaller stream. There are still a lot of fish, and big ones too, that are waiting to be caught. Take a look at Adbrite and give it a try! I bet you’ll catch an internet income opportunity.

I was introduced to this idea and software from Jeff Johnson’s UndergroundTrainingLab.com. This OpenX software is brilliant and it provides a means for your website to provide you with extra income. But, it can do more than that for you:

1. Maximize your income by only showing the best ads. OpenX tracks how many times ads have been shown and how many times they have been clicked. You can keep the ads that are making you money and get rid of those are not.

2. You can track how much traffic your websites are getting by checking how many ad impressions your site has received.

3. You can sell ad space on your website and control it from the OpenX location.

4. Grow your network marketing internet business by selling text links and control it from the OpenX location. This would make your website similar to Google Adwords.

5. You can test your own ads, banners, and text links. Put these on your own OpenX system and you can track which ones work best and which ones need modifying. Thus, you can maximize your internet income opportunity.

I could keep adding to this list on things you can do with OpenX, but I’m going to let you listen to the expert himself. While I still advertise on Google Adwords using the Google Cash Detective (see the article titled PPC Is A Legitimate Business Opportunity), I expanded my advertising business by using 7Search. It’s another search engine that is generating me lots of profits on a daily basis. It’s easy to use and you can get started using it with an initial advertising fee of only $25.

Unlike Google, 7Search makes you pay your adverting fee up front, before you start advertising. I like that! That way I don’t have to worry about the number of clicks my ad is getting and how much money I may have spent. When my advertising fee runs out, my ads stop. And, similar to Google, 7Search allows you to place a daily cap on how much you want to spend on an ad.

There are five other reasons why I like 7Search to promote my internet income opportunity:

1. Traffic – While not near the traffic that Google Adwords gets, the 7Search engine still gets over 1 billion searches per month. That’s a lot of searches. And, since many advertisers are unfamiliar with 7Search, I am competing against a lot fewer ads. So, my ads get plenty of clicks.

2. Cost – I decide how much the clicks will cost me. I can place an add for as low as 1 cent per click. Many of my high quality keywords are costing me penny’s to use. For example, one of the keywords on one of my ads is “art”. On 7Search, to get the numer one position I pay $.03/click. On Google Adwords, that word would cost me at least $.52/click to get the number 1 position. Need I say more? If you have a word you would like to check out, click here.

3. Quality Score – 7Search ads have no quality score! Gone are the days when Google would tell me my ad would not place on page 1 of their search engine due to a low quality score.

4.Title and Body Length – You can have a much longer title and ad length with 7Search. On Google Adwords, your title must be no longer than 25 characters and your ads body can be no longer than 70 characters – two lines of no more than 35 characters each. On 7Search, your title can have up to 40 characters and the ad’s text up to 190 characters. I don’t always use all of these characters, but it certainly enables me to be a bit more descriptive with the product or service that I am trying to sell.

5. Customer Service – 7Search’s cutomer support is known for being fast, responsive, and friendly. I normally get a response the same day I email them. Or, if I can’t wait a few hours, they have provided me with a phone number where I can call them. Google won’t do that!

7Search has allowed me to increase my pay-per-click advertising with an excellent ROI. Google is still the “Giant” and attracts most of the advertisers, but I will use this “slingshot” to build my internet income opportunity.
