Do you advertise on Google Adwords? If so, have you tried advertising on Facebook, yet? If not, you’re missing out on a legitimate business opportunity! Facebook is HUGE! Since its creation from a Harvard dorm room in 2004, Facebook has grown to over 500 MILLION USERS and that number is SKYROCKETING. More than 50% of those users use it on a daily basis. |

In January 2010, Facebook set a record by displacing Google as the top site where the most web pages are viewed.
So, if you advertise on Adwords, don’t pass up advertising on Facebook. You can do it for far less money and you can target your customers so much better. You can target buyers who have already qualified themselves in a particular target market.
Here, let me show you how to do it:
Go to http://www.facebook.com/advertising and you’ll get a page similar to the one below:
Once on that page, click the “Create an Ad” button located in the upper, right hand side of that page.
Now, you’ll get a page similar to the one above. Fill in your ads destination URL, give your ad a title, and provide some text for the body of the ad. And, do you see what’s next?
Yes, your ad can have an image with it! That’s one neat thing about Facbook advertising.
When finished, click the “Continue” button and you’ll get a page similar to the one below:
On these pages is where your legitimate business opportunity really begins to take shape. These pages allow you to target your market very specifically – in ways that you can’t do on Google Adwords.
You can target buyers by age, sex, relationships, and even birthdays! But, it’s the box that appears just below the box above that I like best. See the image below:
Likes and Interests! This box is MOST IMPORTANT!
In this box you can get very focused on particular types of buyers. For example, if you were promoting one of Clickbank’s products called World of Warcraft, you could put that into the “Likes and Interests” box. Then, only those people that have used those terms in their own profiles would view your ad. This insures that your ads are highly targeted!
Now, one thing that I need to mention is that as you are checking boxes or adding phrases to target your potential buyers, Facbook is keeping track of it. Facebook provides you an estimate of the number of potential viewers that will see your ad. That estimate appears to the right of the images above. It looks like the image below:
The reason I didn’t show it in the images up above is that the image would’ve been so big that when I downsized it to fit on this page, you wouldn’t have been able to read what is written on those pages. I apologize for that.
Moving on.
The last bit of information that you have to complete before placing your ad order is the Campaigns, Pricing and Scheduling box.
Here, you select a campaign name and can enter a daily budget. If you haven’t advertised on Facebook before, I would encourage you to keep your daily budget low. Facebook advertising takes some practice.
Schedule your ad for the days that you want your ad to show. Maybe you want your ads only to show on weekends. If so, make that selection.
Last, choose how you want to pay for your ads. Do you want to pay on a Pay for Click(CPC) or Pay for Impressions(CPM) basis? Facebook will provide you an estimate of what it thinks you should pay for both of these. But, it’s your decision. You decide and enter that into the box.
I’ve found on a CPC basis that I pay about one-third of what I have to pay on Google Adwords.
After filling out these forms, your ad can start running. You’re done. Your legitimate business opportunity has been created. Keep track of it and watch the profits roll in.

that should be sold offline if you no longer want it or if you are in a desperate need for a pile of cash.
If you sell your website online at one of the auction houses, say Flippa, you are likely to sell it for 5-10 times what the average monthly income is for your site. That’s an industry standard. So, if you normally make about $200 per month from your website, you’ll probably be able to sell it for $1,000-$2,000 from these auction sites.
And, that’s not bad for websites that aren’t making a lot of money. You can sell your website quickly with almost no work and no hassles.
But, what if your website is making you $1,500 per month? Would you want to sell this legitimate business opportunity for $7,500-$15,000? Well, if you sold it from these auction houses, that’s probably all you would get.
Now, think outside of the box. Take that same website that’s making you $1,500 per month and sell it offline and now you can get between $36,000-$54,000. That’s an industry standard in the offline world.
That website that you own is your business. It’s a real business. Anything with an income is a business! So, sell it just like any other business such as a hardware store would sell their business – offline.
Businesses in the offline world normally sell for 2-3 times what their yearly income is. That’s 24-36 times their average monthly income!
Yes, it will be more work to sell it offline than online, but what would you rather have – $54,000 or $15,000? You may have to fly somewhere and have a face-to-face meeting with a prospective buyer. You may have to advertise in several newspapers or even a magazine. But, for a potential sales increase of $39,000, isn’t it worth it?
Certainly it is! It’s just that most website owners don’t think outside of the box.
Now, let’s go a bit further with this legitimate business opportunity.

Link Building To Your Legitimate Business Opportunity
If you have or are trying to start a legitimate business opportunity online, then you must know the importance of building links to your online business. And, if you don’t know it, then you must learn that right now!
If you are trying to promote a product/service online, your success depends upon how much traffic you get from the major search engines. It doesn’t matter if you have the best product that has ever been built or if you can provide a service better than anyone else, you will fail online unless you can get traffic from the search engines. And, that’s why 99% of online businesses fail – they fail to get enough traffic.

In the past, many online entrepreneurs focused their tasks on building incoming links to their site by submitting articles to |
article submission sites such as Ezinearticles, Squidoo, Hubpages, GoArticles, Scribd, ArticleCity, and etc. They would write these articles and place links in them linking back to their main website.
This worked fine for a long time. But, since last November, Google’s search engines have got smarter and no longer give such links as much value as they once did.
Now, that’s not to say these type of links no longer work, because they still do. It’s just that links from article submission sites don’t carry as much weight for ranking purposes as they once did. That’s one reason why you don’t see as many articles from Ezinearticles ranking on the first page any more.
This change in Google made many web owners mad. Their websites that had been ranking well and provided them an income were no longer doing as well. Their legitimate business opportunity has dried up.
Google’s search engine will continue to change in the future. Google wants its search engines to find as many “naturally occurring” links as possible. They want their engines to find links that have been created by someone who liked something and decided to link to it. These are called 1-way links and Google likes these a lot!
For example, let’s say you’re on the internet and you ran across a John Deere riding lawnmower on sale at Lowe’s at a price so low that you couldn’t believe it. So, you email your best friend and tell him about it and you leave him a 1-way link to that Lowe’s page. Google would love that 1-way link. It looks natural.
To build 1-way links to your legitimate business opportunity, you’re going to have to offer some pretty amazing sales for the products/services that you’re providing. Or, you’re going to have to ask other web owners to provide you those 1-way links, which they’re not likely to do. Or, you can ask them if you can write an article for them and ask them if they’ll post it. Do you think they will? Probably not.
There is one more way to get 1-way links. This method was developed by a marketing entrepreneur who was fed up with Google and their ever-changing search engines. Create A Legitimate Business Opportunity Bonus And Outsell Others
If you’re an affiliate marketer, competition is tough out there. There are so many Affiliates trying to sell a legitimate business opportunity to earn a commission that keeping up with the “Jones” is tough to do.
You’re probably constantly looking for new products and new markets. I know that most Affiliates want to be one of the first Affiliates to secure and represent a product so they can dominate that market. Am I right?
Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. To dominate and outsell your competition all you have to do is make your product offer unique.
UNIQUE Product Offers Will DOMINATE Their Market!
You see, most Affiliates sell their products as stand alone products. They sell the product “as is”. And, when a customer on the internet is looking around for that product and they find a dozen or so sites selling that same product, what incentive do they have to choose your site over all the others. That’s right, absolutely none.
So, to dominate that market you have to give the potential customer an incentive to buy from your site. You need to offer them something that none of the other sites are willing to offer them. You need to provide them a bonus!
Providing a bonus to a potential customer is a surefire way to increase conversions and there are two ways to find a bonus that you can provide.
First, contact the creators of your legitimate business opportunity or product and tell them that you are an Affiliate and would like to promote their product. Surprisingly, many times they do have these bonuses and they are happy to provide them because many Affiliates just don’t ask. This shows them that you are a serious and knowledgeable Affiliate.
If they don’t have a bonus, the second choice to acquiring a bonus is to create one – and, it’s easier than you think!
I use a 3-step process for creating a bonus…
Step 1 – Choose A Bonus
You want your bonus to make your product offer to stand out from all the rest. That means you want your bonus to complement or enhance the original product.
For example, if the product you were trying to sell was an electric lawnmower, you might want to provide a 10-15 page eBook titled, “The 7 Best Organic Fertilizers For A Healthy Lawn”.
Or, if you were promoting an affiliate training course, such as the Profit Lance course, you might want to provide a 5-minute video titled, “The Quickest Way To Make $100″.
Get it? You just need to provide a bonus that ties in with the original product that complements or enhances it.
Step 2 – Create The Bonus
Now that you know what your bonus to be, you need to create it. It can either be a written report or a video. It doesn’t have to be that long. If you don’t know all of the information you need for the report or video, do a Google search. All of the information that you need is at your finger tips.
If you are like me, and that’s someone that hates to do reports, you can hire a freelancer to do the report for you. I use a site called oDesk for this (if you would like to learn more about oDesk, read my article Outsourcing Help For Your Network Marketing Internet Business). They are a professional and reputable company that can get the job done at a very low cost.
Step 3 – Circulate Your Bonus
The last thing you need to do is include the bonus offer in all of your promotions. Blog about it. Tweet about it. Email about it. Include the bonus in your Adwords ads.
Once a customer has bought the product that you were originally trying to sell, there are 3 ways to deliver the bonus:
1. If you have a relationship with the product vendor, you may be able to get them to include a special sales page that promotes the bonus, plus a download page so that the customer can instantly download it. Or,
2. You can have customers forward you a copy of their receipts and you can manually send them a link to the bonus. Or,
3. You can set up a special email address with an auto-responder so that they can send a copy of the receipt to the auto-responder which will then forward them a copy of the bonus.
That’s all there is to it! Remember, creating a bonus makes your product offer unique. It will instantly boost your legitimate business opportunity!
A Legitimate Business Opportunity Depends Upon List Building
Building a list of potential buyers is vital to any legitimate business opportunity that’s being done online. Last week, I wrote an article titled “Build Repeat Customers To Your Internet Income Opportunity” where I explained the importance of list building and I suggested a couple of email marketing sites that could be used to build and manage these lists. Today, I wanted to discuss a method to help you to grow your list so that you have hundreds of potential customers on that list.
Many websites will add an opt-in box to their home page and will either ask people to sign up to get future information when available or to get a weekly/monthly newsletter. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Well, of course not and that’s why these types of opt-in boxes don’t work! Very few visitors will ever sign up in this type of opt-in box. But, I’m surprised at how many times I see this.
The best opt-in boxes should offer something that is critical or compelling to your visitors. Or, it should be something that stirs their curiosity. For example, if someone had a website related to cooking, a good opt-in box might say, “Get my 5 Secret Gourmet Recipes for preparing Steak Tartare. Please enter your Name and Email Address”.
Visitors to your site will always be reluctant to leave their email address. This makes them feel vulnerable. But, if you can offer them something whereby they feel like they are making a gain, they are much more likely to do it.
At this point, you might be thinking, “Well, I don’t have anything free to give them, what do I do next?” Of course, you could make something such as a free report or article. Or, find it on the internet.
There are globs of free articles and PDF’s on the internet that are available for you to use to help you build a legitimate business opportunity – just check the copy write issues. You can find many of these by using Google Search. For example, if I go to Google Search and type in “steak tartare +free PDF”, the first listing returned to me is Steak Tartare.pdf (1 KB) – Free Ebook Download. It’s that simple.
Once you have made or found something of value, there are a couple of other things that you need to do to your opt-in box:
1. Change the “Subscribe” button to say “Free Ebook” or something along those lines, and
2. Put a message under the button that says something like, “Don’t worry, we hate SPAM, too! We’ll never share your address with anyone!” This will relax your visitors.

While You’re Unemployed, Find A Legitimate Business Opportunity On The Internet
If you’re unemployed, use a lot of that extra time that you have to find a legitimate business opportunity on the internet. There are not many regular jobs out there. With unemployment hovering around 10% (and much higher in many states), employers are reluctant to do much hiring. Many experts are forecasting that it will be 3-4 years before we see much of a drop in unemployment. So, don’t give up, use this time to create your own internet income opportunity. Make your own business. It’s not as hard as you may think.
First thing you need to do before you decide which legitimate business opportunity it is that you want to tackle, is to determine how much money you need to make on a daily basis to sustain your way of living. If you’re working from home, it will be less than you think.
For example, if your rent or house payment is $900/month, that’s about $30/day (based on 30 days/month). Groceries about $10/day (if you spend about $70/week). Electricity $6/day, water and sewage $3/day, cable TV $2/day, telephone $2/day, high speed internet $1.50/day, automobile payment $8.50/day, auto insurance $3/day, and miscellaneous expenses $4/day. That’s a total of $70/day in total expenses. Now, you need to find a legitimate business opportunity on the internet that will provide you with an income of at least $70/day.
Keep in mind that making money on the internet is not a get rich quick scheme. Sure, there have been those that have immediately made thousands of dollars. But, that’s like winning the lottery. It can be done, but it’s not likely to happen.
The important thing about finding a legitimate business opportunity on the internet is to find an opportunity that is consistently and regularly providing you an income. You will likely have to take advantage of a number of different opportunities, with each one providing you a chunk of income that is covering different parts of your expenses.
For example, you may have a blog on weight loss that is linking to different weight loss programs that is providing you with an average income of $12/day. Well, that’s covering groceries and telephone expenses.
Start another blog, say on exercise equipment. Build it up and after a while the income from it may be covering your automobile payment and its insurance.
Cover all of your expenses by bits and pieces. Besides blogs, you may want to do some pay per click advertising (for tips, read my article PPC Is A Legitimate Business Opportunity). Perhaps this will provide you enough income to cover your house payments. And, try article marketing on Ezinearticles and Squidoo (see Bum Marketing Is A Legitimate Business Opportunity). Article marketing may provide you enough income to cover the balance of your expenses and start providing you enough cash to put in your savings account.
Providing yourself an income by bits and pieces is insurance for you. Now, I’m not saying that you don’t want to land on a big money maker – we all want that. I’m just saying that you want to diversify your income. You never know when one of your sources of income may dry up. If you have diversified your income, you may get a little “thirsty” when one of your sources dries up, but you can survive until you have found another legitimate business opportunity.

PPC Is A Legitimate Business Opportunity
Pay-per-click advertising is a legitimate business opportunity with a huge income potential. For those that don’t know what PPC advertising is, it is the placement of ads on an internet search engine and the person that places that ad is trying to sell a product, service, or generate a lead. A successful advertiser can make a lot of money. But, there is a “KEY” to being successful which I will explain furthur below.
What is really nice about this type of business is that you don’t even have to own the product. You don’t even have to possess or even see the product. There are thousands of merchants that will pay a commission to someone else if they will market and sell their products and services. The person who does market and sell these products is called an affiliate and the business they are in is called affiliate marketing.
Where do affiliates find products to sell? One huge marketplace is called Clickbank. Clickbank is an affiliate program network that acts as a middle-man between the owners of products and the affiliate. Clickbank has thousands of products to sell, pays 50% or higher in commissions, and is free to join. Anybody can sell products from the Clickbank network.
Now that an affiliate has a product to sell, where and how do they sell these products? Two major places to sell these products are on the Google and Yahoo search engines. Did you know that over 293 million people visit the Google search engine each day? These markets are enormous! And, how do you sell on these search engines? The most popular way is by pay-per-click advertising.
In pay-per-click advertising, an affiliate places an ad on the search engine and those ads appear when someone is searching on that engine. These ads generally appear at the top and right-hand side of the page. If someone clicks on that ad, they are taken to either the affiliates landing page or a landing page provided by the owner of the product or service being sold. When on these landing pages, the person doing the search has an opportunity to purchase the product or service.
The catch to this type of advertising by an affiliate is the cost for that pay-per-click. Every time someone clicks on an affiliates ad, the affiliate is charged a predetermined price for that click. The affiliate needs to negotiate with the search engine to try to get a cost for that click that is low enough so that in the long run the affiliate makes a profit. Not every click will lead to a sale.
Choosing the right product to sell is also important. Some products will sell faster than others. Some products have higher commissions.
The ad itself is important. The way an ad is written will heavily influence a sale. One single word can make a difference.
Landing pages are important. The landing page is where the affiliate is provided the opportunity to convince the visitor that they cannot live without the product or service being offered. Wording and visual presentation are vital.
So, what started out appearing as an easy legitimate business opportunity is actually a lot more complex. A lot of affiliates have found that out. Many affiliates have lost a lot of money in pay-per-click adverting. If you visit a lot of the forums on internet marketing, you will find many have lost their shirt-tails in pay-per-click advertising. But, a lot of money has also been made. Let me show you how I found out how to do it.
I had given up on pay-per-click advertising. I tried advertising on Google and lost a lot of money. I tried advertising on Yahoo and Bing! and I lost money. Oh, I sold some products and at one point I had even made a little profit. But, a few days later that profit was gone and I was losing money, again. So, I gave up on PPC. That is, until I found the “KEY” to this type of advertising.
The “KEY” that I am talking about is some sophisticated software called the Google Cash Detective. This software sends it’s own spiders into the Google search engine several times a day and records all of the affiliate ads. It records the ad, the landing page for that ad, the product being sold, the ranking of that ad in Google’s search engine, how long that ad has been running, all of the keywords that belong to that ad, and an estimate of the cost for those keywords. It keeps a historical record of all of this information. This is all of the vital information that you need in order to create a successful legitimate business opportunity.
To use the Google Cash Detective, you input any keyword that you want to check out and the software will provide you a listing of the ads that are using that keyword in Google. The ads are displayed so that you can see all of the information that it has been recording. By noting how long an ad using a specific keyword has been running, you can almost determine for certain if the ad’s owner is making money!
For example, take the keyword “quick weight loss tips”. Google estimates that this keyword gets 12,100 searches per month and that the average cost for that keyword is $2.11/click. If you found an ad that was using that keyword and that ad had been found on Google for 181 of the last 185 days and that it was last seen yesterday, wouldn’t you assume that ad and keyword were successful? Sure you would! After all, you couldn’t afford to run that ad unless it was successful (by the way, I found that ad while writing this article!).
Once you have found a successful ad, check out all of the keywords, the product or service, and the landing page. Find out if you can also sell this same product. If you can, you can now clone, copy, or modify this ad using the same keywords. That way, you can be profitable immediately. No more trial and error.
Is the Google Cash Detective inexpensive? I guess that’s determined by how you define the word “inexpensive”. I pay about $3.30/day to use the software, but I am making much more than that with the profitable campaigns that I have been able to create. Much more than that!
