Sure, Google still has more traffic than Facebook, by about 10%. I checked traffic estimates this morning and Google is getting 159.4 million visitors per month, but Facebook came in a close second at 145.4 million.
But, when you consider how much better you can target your customers with Facebook advertising, you’re much better off with Facebook.
In Facebook Advertising, you can target your audience by city, state, nation, or to the whole world. You can target your audience by language, age, sex, race, education, marriage, likes, dislikes, interests, and keywords. You can even target your audience by places where they work or even their date of birth.
The best way to figure out how to target your audience is to choose a website in your niche that ranks high on Google’s search page and submit that site to Quantcast. Quantcast will return to you a host of information that will help you target the best market for that product.
For example, let’s say you’re trying to sell an ebook on learning how to play bass guitar. If you go to Google.com and enter “learn how to play bass guitar”, the #1 site returned to you is “studybass.com”. If you enter “studybass.com” into Quantcast, you get the following information returned to you:
Now, with this information you can go to Facebook Advertising and target your audience to males, 13 years old or older, Caucasian, and with an income of $30,000 or more per year. That’s a highly targeted market.

1. Include UGLY or UNUSUAL ad pictures – You want your ad to jump out at people. I see so many ads that use the standard beautiful picture. These don’t jump out at you – you expect it! Use a picture that nobody would expect to see so that have to do a double-take. Or, turn the picture sideways or upside down.
2. Avoid BANNER BLINDNESS – Change the appearance of your ad at least every other day. People get use to seeing ads and after a while their mind won’t even think about looking at the ad. Every other day either change the picture, or add a border, or change print colors, or add arrows. Change something!
3. Advertise for PENNIES – You have two choices for paying for your ads – either on a Cost-Per-Click (CPC) or on a Cost-Per-Thousand (CPM) basis. Don’t be afraid to examine both rates and choose the best one.
I was recently setting up an add and for CPC advertising, Facebook had a suggested CPC rate of $.99. That means that for every time my ad was clicked, I was going to almost have to pay almost one dollar.
But, Facebook’s suggested CPM rate was only $.43. That means that for 43 cents my ad was going be shown 1000 times. Which one do you think I chose?
Even if my ad got clicked only 1% of the time, I would get 10 clicks in those 1000 impressions – that’s $.43 for those 10 clicks using the CPM basis or $9.90 using th CPC basis.
That’s right, I chose the CPM basis for my advertising!

The keywords that you’re using are vital for any online business. That’s no secret. There are 4 Golden Rules in keyword research. These rules are:
1. Relevant – The keyword needs to be relevant to your site.

Think of each of your keywords as a pipe with a certain amount of monetary flow passing through it.
A high commerciality keyword is a large pipe with a strong cash flow. Find and use one of these keywords and you have a large profit potential.
A low commerciality keyword is a small pipe. Not much cash will flow through it. Use one of these keywords and you won’t make much money.
Every keyword you choose has the potential to not only attract traffic, but also to attract buyers. How many times have you heard a webmaster say that he worked for months to get his website up to page one on Google, but nobody bought anything? It happens all the time!
That’s because the keyword’s commerciality was not investigated before the keyword was chosen. That’s a BIG MISTAKE!

Don’t baseball card collectors want to make money? Do they only want to spend money on new cards? Of course not! This is their hobby and they like the cards, but they all want to make money. They want to make serious money!
So, where is the information product that would help them make money at collecting baseball cards?
And, baseball cards is not the only one. Choose almost any topic and see what you find in the top placing advertisements. For example, choose:

- Antique collecting

The point I’m trying to make is that most of the ads that you see are trying to provide the reader an “answer to a problem”.

Most affiliate marketers are in this trap. They are trying to market “answers to a problem”. Those “gold mines” have all been found.
So, where do you find a new “gold mine”? Well, here it is:

Why do that?
Because almost nobody else if doing that! Most internet marketers are so tied up in trying to sell “answers to a problem” that they haven’t even looked at this profitable way to tap into a niche.

Wouldn’t you enjoy making money from something you’re going to do anyway?

Examples:

To put this into action, there are only 3 steps that you have to make:
1. Determine which niche to start with.
First, choose niches that you’re familiar with and choose the one that seems most popular.
2. Decide on the type of “Business Opportunity” product you want to make.

3. Create your product to promote.
This is where most people will stop! But, don’t stop – you can do it!
Writing an information product is not that hard. All of the answers to any of your problems is at your finger tips. Just do a Google Search! Your answers to any of your problems will be found.

I make my living in affiliate marketing. It was my way of taking advantage of home work business opportunities. I am asked all the time by people I know and meet on what exactly does affiliate marketing mean.
The easiest way to explain it is to give you an example. Amazon.com is the biggest affiliate marketing network. Amazon has hundreds of thousands of products that that can be purchased through their website. If you join Amazon.com and become an affiliate for them, all you have to do to make a commission with them is to drive traffic to their website and if a purchase is made, you earn a commission.
That’s it! To be an affiliate marketer all you need is a computer and internet access.
It doesn’t cost you anything to be an affiliate for Amazon.com – joining is free. And, their are hundreds of other affiliate marketing networks that you can join and they are also free to join. Among the largest and busiest are Clickbank, Commission Junction, and PayDotCom.
The key to being successful at affiliate marketing is driving hungry traffic to your affiliate sites. The three usual ways of doing this are by:
1. Blogging – You can create your own free website at WordPress.com or Blogger.com. Once you have these set up, you can write postings in your blog and link them to your affiliate sites. Or, you can post banners on your blog and if clicked, it will take your visitors to your affiliate links. All of this, including the banners, are free.
2. Article Writing – You can write articles that have links to your affiliate networks and post these articles on article directories. Your article should be written around a subject related to what you are trying to sell so that the traffic you drive to your links are focused and targeted. Some of the more popular article directories are Ezinearticles, Squidoo, Hubpages, and GoArticles. All of these are free to use.
3. PPC Advertising – PPC advertising is known as pay per click advertising. Now, this is not free, but it is a very effective way to drive targeted customers directly to the products you are trying to sell. This method involves placing ads on Google Adwords, Yahoo, or MSN. Joining these advertising sites is free, but one you place an ad, you will have to pay a predetermined amount each time someone clicks on your ad. It doesn’t cost anything for your ad to show, but it does when someone clicks on it (for some tips on PPC advertising, read my article on this internet income opportunity).
Affiliate marketing is a terrific internet income opportunity. It is not a get rich quick scheme. It does take some time to learn the ropes, but there is income to be made and the longer you are in it, the more you will make. Remember, all those links you put out there to products you are selling, will stay on the internet for years to come.

Good home work business opportunities can be found by using Google Adsense. If you have a website or a blog and you are not using Google Adsense, you are letting coins drop between your fingers. Google Adsense is an easy internet income opportunity.
What is Google Adsense? Google Adsense allows Google to place targeted ads on publisher’s websites. Any size of website may qualify for Google adsense. The only thing that a publisher of a website has to do to qualify for Google Adsense is to comply with Google’s program policies and eligibility criteria and complete an online application. That’s it.
After submitting an application, a Google employee will review tha aplication and will provide an answer within one week. If approved, Google generates a HTML code that has to be entered into the website. After that is done, ads will start appearing on the website. If a visitor to the website clicks on one of these ads, the website’s owner receives a commission. KaChing…money earned!
Commissions are paid after the total exceeds $100. They are paid out once per month and are made in the month following the date your commissions totaled $100. For example, if on November 10th your commissions totaled $100 or more, Google will send you a check before the end of December.
One of the things that the HTML code does that Google issued and requested the publisher to enter on his website is that it helps Google’s spider better understand what the website is about. That way, Google can do a better job at targeting its’ adds. If the website is about trout fishing, all of the adds will be related to trout fishing.
The publisher can also decide where on the website the ads appear and also the size of the ads. The publisher may want the ads to only appear width-wize across either the top or bottom of the website. Or, he may want them going up-and-down on the left or right hand side of the page.
